Admissions Process
Our goal is to make the application process as effortless as possible for families. In order to apply to First Coast Christian School, applicants must follow the process below and submit the following required documents. Please note that registration is not finalized until we have received and reviewed all required documents, the student has interviewed with one of our principals and the registration fee has been paid. We have also provided the qualifications, policies, and procedures for admission.
Qualifications, Policies and Procedures for Admission to First Coast Christian School
- First Coast Christian School does not discriminate in student admissions on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin. As a private institution, the school reserves the privilege of setting to maintain its own standards for student scholarship, conduct, dress and appearance and maintains the right to deny admission to any student who fails to meet the basic admission requirements.
- All applicants apply online. The non-refundable application fee is $30.
- Although FCCS’s academic emphasis is not exclusively college preparatory, students are accepted on the assumption that they can perform at least average work. Official acceptance is based upon available space, character qualities, scholastic record, entrance testing, and a genuine desire on the part of the parents and student to attend a Christian school.
- The maximum acceptable age for a student at FCCS is no older than 19 years of age on the first day of school for the start of their senior year. Students 18 years of age and older are considered minors in school matters and they must reside with a legal parent or guardian at all times while attending FCCS.
- All students are admitted on a nine-week academic probation period. Any student accepted under special academic consideration must maintain an acceptable performance level as determined by the school administration in order to remain enrolled. If the student struggles to make acceptable progress or does not adjust to the program of the school, the parents will be expected to give additional help at home. A student may be required to remain on academic probation beyond the initial nine-week period. Regrettably, our school is unable to meet the needs of mentally or emotionally handicapped children.
- FCCS is a private institution that reserves the privilege of setting and maintaining its own standards for student conduct, dress, cleanliness, and scholarship. FCCS maintains the right to suspend or expel any student who violates the standards set down in this handbook, or other rules of conduct as defined by the administration.
- FCCS reserves the right to refuse the admission of a student who fails to meet the entrance requirements, that has a significant history of academic, attendance, disciplinary, and/or character issues (i.e., below average test scores, multiple suspensions, married students, students with children, etc). Students that have been expelled from another school either public or private prior to a desired start date will be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, students in this situation are typically not admitted.
