FAITH
Mission
We provide a quality, Christ-centered education in a safe, Christian atmosphere, to reach the heart of each student for Jesus Christ, and to prepare our students for the future by promoting spiritual growth and developing a Biblical worldview.
Chapel
We believe weekly Chapel services to be one of the most important events we do at First Coast Christian. Every grade, from K3 – 12, sit under the teaching or preaching of God’s Word once a week, taking time to tune out the voices of the world and center on what God has for our staff and students.
Pre-K and Elementary
Our Pre-K and Elementary students have Chapel on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings, meeting in the auditorium. These chapels are led by our staff and administration, as students learn songs and receive Biblical instruction from their teachers.
Middle and High
On Thursday mornings, all students grade 6-12 meet in the auditorium for Chapel. These services include student-led worship and messages brought from the Word of God by teachers, administration, alumni, and other local ministry leaders. At the beginning of each school year, we hold Spiritual Emphasis Week, having chapel every day for a full week. Our goal is to see the student body united by the Word of God, and ready to begin a new year with Christ as the focus.
Integrating Faith with Academics
First Coast Christian School believes that a quality education must be built on a solid foundation of Christian principles based on the Word of God. We strive to provide this Christian-based quality education to all students while integrating a Biblical worldview into every area of study. It is important that we integrate faith into our academics to encourage students to include God in every area of life. By incorporating both faith and academics in each day, this leads to a more successful student who serves God and others. To help further promote this strong foundation, students experience daily Bible classes and weekly Chapel services.
We use a curriculum combination of Abeka Book, Bob Jones University Press materials, and Summit Ministries to develop not only a foundation of knowledge, but also the ability to think analytically, critically, and spiritually. Advanced math courses begin in seventh grade. Additional advanced and/or honors courses in math, science, and history begin in ninth grade. In middle school and high school, we offer traditional and honors courses. For those who meet the academic requirements, dual enrollment through Florida State College at Jacksonville is offered beginning in eleventh grade.
Each classroom is equipped with technology resources to enhance the curriculum such as computers, ebooks, iPads, and Apple TVs. Our learning management system, which assists with organizing content for each course, gives students the ability to access assignments as well as tests and quizzes directly from their iPad.
We believe that FCCS is the perfect size to provide the right opportunity for a student to be prepared for life. With class sizes designed to provide the attention needed, the classes foster an environment of learning both book and real-life knowledge.
First Coast Christian School students have endless opportunities to succeed spiritually and academically.
